“Because of the nature of my job, I travel constantly. She made her first sacrifice by deciding to accompany me everywhere I went. My wife agreed to my initial request, which I made to her very first. It’s quite difficult, I have to say.
Many people believe that playing cricket is simple, that you have a glamorous life, and that your wife gets to travel the world and stay in the best hotels. It’s not a steady existence, though.
You are in Bangalore one day, Delhi the next, Melbourne the third, and Dubai the fourth.
Even after the birth of my kid, she traveled with me, albeit it was difficult. Children also brought new obligations, such as the need to care for them while VVS acknowledges being the absent parent.
“After Achinthya, she reduced the number of trips she took with me, but she also had two kids to take care of. She raised them as a single mom as the second sacrifice she made.
I was never there as a spouse or parent. Sailaja was happy to help them in any way since she wanted to make sure I didn’t sacrifice my career. She is aware of my love for cricket and my commitment to serving my nation.
I’m fortunate to have the wife I’ve always wanted, said the former cricket player, who is now relishing a new chapter in his life with his family.
