Khursheed Ahmed, a nurse who worked in a hamlet close to Tonk, was Khaleel’s father. His parents didn’t want him to enroll in a cricket academy since they wanted him to study medicine.

Before making his Twenty20 debut, he was a member of the Indian team that competed in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his first-class debut for Rajasthan in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy on October 6, 2017.
