Indian Cricketers who struggled before achieving success

Umesh Yadav:

Umesh Yadav’s story is one that’s truly rags to riches. One of India’s premier fast bowler’s struggles proves that you can become successful even if you are born into an underprivileged family. Umesh Yadav’s father Tilak Yadav was a coal miner in a small town some 30 kilometers away from the city of Nagpur.

My father wanted me to be a policemen and I was so close to getting the job. I too wanted to get a job and enjoy a basic life. I never thought I’d play for India one day,or see a life of luxury,

When he was 20 years of age Umesh remained unemployed and that’s when a friend of his encouraged him to play with a leather ball and try his luck. In a miraculous turn of events, Yadav was selected ok the Ranji Trophy and then was picked up by the Delhi Daredevils for approximately $750000. Before going to the 2012 tour of Australia, he made sure to buy a plot of land near Nagpur’a VCA stadium

I feel secure now, there is nothing better in the world than seeing your family secure,” Umesh said. “There have been days in my life when I didn’t have money in my pocket. I’m thankful to god who changed my life.”

His father has now taken voluntary retirement and Umesh Yadav is ready to shoulder all his responsibilities.
