As Dan Burn progressed and polished himself, he began representing local clubs in his hometown, the defender represented Blyth Town, Blyth Spartans and Darlington in his youth career.
Due to his consistent performances and unmatched defensive prowess, Dan Burn was promoted to the senior side of Darlington club in 2009. Dan Burn spent 2 seasons with the sixth tier club till 2011.
