Who is Ravi Bopara?

Forest Gate, London is the place of birth of Ravinder Singh Bopara. He is an former All-rounder of England national cricket team.

Ravi Bopara belongs to London and he completed his education from London as well. However, he hasn’t disclosed anything about his Educational background as of yet.

Bopara began his cricketing journey having represented Essex in Under-14 stage, he was also an integral part of the England Under-19 national cricket team.

He also represented English in Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2004.

Domestic

Ravi Bopara began his cricketing journey at a very young age, he represented Essex Under-14 in domestic cricket.

Furthermore, Ravi Bopara made his domestic cricket debut for Essex senior team in May, 2002. He represented them for 17 years in first class cricket.

Considered as majorly a lower order hard hitting all rounder, Bopara established himself as one of the bowling superiors as well.

Overall, Ravi Bopara represented Essex in domestic matches (544) having established wickets (505) at a bowling average (32.76) along with runs scored (22,666) with strike rate (40.31).

International

After consistent performances in domestic cricket, Ravi Bopara finally got a breakthrough and earned his first England national cricket team call-up. Bopara made his ODI debut for England against mighty rivals, Australia in February, 2007.

Moreover, He was also named in the England national cricket team squad ahead of the Cricket World Cup in 2007. He won the man of the match award against Sri Lanka during the tournament. Bopara amassed 52 runs off just 53 balls and guided the English team to triumph.

Later on, Bopara also made his Test cricket debut for England against Sri Lanka in December, 2007. Although, he was unable to impress the selectors and failed to cement his place in the team.

Considered as one of the hard hitting batsmens, Ravi Bopara slowly transitioned himself as an all-rounder for the English cricket team. Soon enough, Ravi Bopara rose to prominence due his dynamic bowling style and accuracy.

Overall, Ravi Bopara represented English national cricket team for 7 years having scored runs (3,270) and establishing wickets (41) during matches (133) for the English national cricket team.

Ravi Bopara made his T20 debut in the Indian Premier League after he was bought by Kings XI Punjab franchise in 2009, he spent two seasons before leaving in 2010.

Furthermore, Ravi Bopara also played in the Mzansi Super League T20 competition. He represented the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in for 4 seasons.

He was also a part of the IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015, although he was released by the franchise the same year. Ravi Bopara also played for the Sylhet Strikers in Bangladesh Premier League for two seasons.

Ravi Bopara was also one of the most integral parts of the Pakistan Super League franchise, Karachi Kings. He was bought by them in 2016 and spent three seasons till 2019.

Currently, the Former English All-rounders, Ravi Bopara plays in the 100 ball cricket side  London Spirit. He signed with the side in 2021.
