Venkatesh Iyer is an Indian international cricketer who was born on December 25, 1994. He is a Madhya Pradesh domestic cricketer who also plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

How is the International career of Venky going on?
Venky was asked by the BCCI to return to the UAE to serve as a net bowler for India’s ICC T20 World Cup squad in 2021.
He was later named in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their November 2021 series against New Zealand.
Venky soon made his T20I debut for India against New Zealand on November 17, 2021. He made his international debut in the final match of the series where he bowled the spell of 3-0-12-1.
He was picked forIndia’s One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against South Africa in December 2021. On January 19, 2022, he made his ODI debut for India against South Africa.
He was selected for India’s T20I team for their series against the West Indies in January 2022, where he batted in the lower middle order and scored runs with a strike rate of 179.24.
He also took two wickets during the series. Iyer was picked to India’s team for the T20I series against Ireland in June 2022.

Venkatesh Iyer emerged as one of the important members for the KKR and went on to hit 370 runs at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 129 to help them reach the final during the 2021 season.
He was named player of the match after scoring 55 runs in the second qualifier, and he then went on to continue the destructive form where in the next match he came up with another half-century in the final. He put on a 91-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill, but it all went in vain as KKR lost the match.
Iyer got his first IPL century against the Mumbai Indians on April 16, 2023, scoring 104 runs in 51 balls. As a result, he became only the second batter in KKR history to score a century after Brendon McCullum.
