Marsh was picked to Australia’s Twenty20 team for a tour to South Africa in September 2011. Following Brett Lee’s withdrawal due to injury, he was later added to the One Day International team. 

He had an impressive debut for Australia in the second T20I match of the series, scoring 36 runs and hitting three sixes in the penultimate over of the Australian innings.

Marsh, who was a fixture in the One Day International team, recorded a five-wicket haul against England at the 2015 Cricket World Cup and hit his first ODI century against India at the SCG in 2016.

Marsh earned his first Twenty20 International half-century in July 2021, during Australia’s tour of the West Indies, hitting 51 runs off 31 deliveries. 

He kept up his fine form, hitting another half-century in the next match, and in the fourth T20I, he scored 75 runs and got his career-best T20I bowling stats of 3/24.

Marsh was picked to Australia’s team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in August 2021. Marsh helped Australia win the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on November 14, 2021, collecting 77 runs in the final and winning player of the match honours.
