Who is Shaun Marsh?
Shaun Marsh is a former Australian cricketer who represented the Australian Cricket team in all three formats and also played for the West Australian Cricket team in Australian Domestic Cricket.
He is the son of Geoff Marsh and has an elder brother Mitchell Marsh both of whom have played for the Australian Cricket team.

How was the career of Shaun Marsh?
In the year 2008, he got the chance to make his debut for the Australian Cricket team in T20 format along with his West Australian team mate Luke Ronchi. He opened the batting with Ronchi and went on to make a partnership of 57 runs in just 6 overs where Shaun had Scored 29 runs from 22 balls.
Shaun had a great one day debut as he went on to score 81 from just 97 balls and received the man of the match award which made him a regular for the Australian Cricket team for the 2008 to 2009 season.
During the South Africa tour of Australia, he had opened the batting for Australia in the first and second ODI and went on to receive the player of the match in both the ODI.
He had 50 + runs in all the 10 ODI matches he had played and soon received his first international ODI century at Hyderabad against India in the next series.
In a record ninth-wicket partnership with Doug Bollinger, Marsh achieved his second ODI century (110) on January 21, 2011, in an ODI match against England at Hobart. Marsh was selected Player of the Match as Australia went on to win the game by 46 runs.
He got the chance to make his test debut in 2011 against Sri Lanka where he was given the baggy green by his father. He is one of those 19 cricketers to have scored a test century on the test debut. It was a memorable moment for him as his father was present there and he scored the century on his debut.
He was included in the series against India at home but he found poorly and its scores with an average of just 2.67 runs and was later dropped from the Australian side after a few bad innings.
He was not included again in the test side until 2014 but between 2014 to 2016 he was just an injury replacement opener who used to be included in the squad if the first choice openers were injured.
Marsh was reinstated as the starting opening batter for the last Test of Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka after spending the previous three years on the outside looking in. The three-Test series, which Australia lost 3-0, saw Australia’s batsmen struggle in the Sri Lankan conditions.
However, Marsh displayed talent and hit a century (130) in his return innings. He kept his spot during Australia’s first home Test against South Africa in the 2016–17 summer, but a broken finger forced him to miss the remainder of the series.
