After a poor start to IPL 2019, Royal Challengers Bangalore saw a ray of hope. They needed to win their six games to stay in contention for the playoffs. They started well by winning the first three of them.

However their journey came to an abrupt halt against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday. Although their hopes for making the playoffs crashed, skipper Virat will be proud of his boys for fighting till the end.

However all hopes doesn’t seem to be lost for RCB yet. There are some scenarios and mathematically they are still in the race for the playoffs. Everything can happen in the final week of the league stages which begins on Monday.

First of all RCB need to win their remaining two league games. This will take their points to 12 from 14 matches. Apart from that, the results of five out of six games should go in favour of Virat Kohli’s men.

Here are the scenarios

CSK and DC have already qualified for the playoffs. MI, with 14 points, is also set to join them soon. It will be good for RCB if these three top-ranked teams keeps on winning against the bottom-ranked ones.

Moreover SRH, KXIP and KKR shouldn’t cross the 12-point mark. It would be better if SRH doesn’t win any more games. This is because they have a superior run-rate among all the other teams. RCB cannot better them if they are tied in points.

If everything goes according to the plans, DC or CSK will end with 20 points and MI with 18 points. RCB, KKR and KXIP will be tied at 12 points each and the team with better NRR will qualify as the fourth team.
