Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul started 2019 on a very sour note. This was because of their misogynist comments on talk-show Koffee With Karan.

The incident which happened on January 6 didn’t go down well with many people. Both the cricketers, who were at that time playing in Australia, were suspended with immediate effect.

However later the suspension was lifted as Supreme Court decided to appoint an Ombudsman in the case later. Later Justice D.K. Jain was appointed as Ombudsman who finally gave the much-awaited verdict.

The Ombudsman have penalized both the players. He has asked both the players to pay Rs 1 lakh to each of the 10 widows of the CRPF personnel. These paramilitary forces soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Ombudsman has also asked them to donate Rs 10 lakh to the Cricket Association of Blind. As a result the cricketers will have to pay Rs 20 lakh individually and the matter has officially ended now.
