Chris Gayle to Retire after World Cup

Universal Boss Chris Gayle has eventually going to lay down his weapon after this world Cup .The West Indies Superstar will reitre from all ODI’s.

On Sunday , the devastating opening batsman decided to retire from the 50 over format . Gayle will do so after the ICC World Cup this Summer , held in England and Wales.

The Confirmation came from the Windies Cricket board on Sunday At Twitter.

Talismanic WINDIES batsman, Chris Gayle, has announced he will retire from One-Day Internationals following the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 England & Wales

On July 2018, the destructive batsman played against Bangladesh for West Indies during the home ODI series . Gayle has now made himself available for the leagues around the World. The likes of Indian Premier League , BPL , T10 League , BBL and Afganisthan Premier League are on his cards.

Gayle is one of the all-time greats . But he was fallen out of favour from Windies Board along with many big names. Thats why, he was not called up in the team last few years.

Gayle made a comeback , when he scored a double century in the 2015 World Cup. From there on, he was called back into the team 2 years later. He played in the tour of England in 2017. His strong performance also helped Windies to make into the World Cup Qualifiers last year.

Gayle is almost at his prime. At age 39 , retirement was very much on the cards. Gayle is considering the World Cup 2019 as his last . He also took retirement from all List A games. He played his last game for Jamaica and also received a Guard Of  Honour from the players.

Gayle’s Career 

Gayle is the only batsman complete the triple feat of scoring a century in T20I cricket . A Triple Century in Test Cricket as well as Double Century in ODI cricket.

He also helped the Windies to get 2 World T20 titles and also the Champions Trophy .

Gayle has so far scored 9,727 runs in 284 matches which includes 23 centuries in his ODI career.Â
