A late winner from the former Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, secured Manchester United’s first major trophy under Jose Mourinho, as they beat Southampton 3-2 in the final of the EFL Cup, On Sunday.

 

Jose Mourinho’s side Manchester United took an early lead with a Zlatan Ibrahimovic free kick in 19 min and doubled their advantage with a calm finish from the young England international Jesse Lingard in 38th min. 

And a minute before the half time Southampton pulled one back as the 25-year-old Italy international Manolo Gabbiadini scored a sweat and clam goal for the visitors and took the score to 2-1.

And just after the second half started, the visitors side Southampton quickly equalized, as the Italy international Gabbiadini grabbed his second goal to equalize the score by 2-2, and Manchester United were on the back foot for the rest of the half until the 35-year-old star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed in with three minutes remaining.
