The Real Madrid boss reading little into league standings at this stage of the season despite they are five points ahead of Barcelona in the La Liga table.

The 44-year-old French coach thinks that the La Liga title race is far from over though they are five points clear than their title rivals Barcelona.

Last night Madrid won a crucial match against their counterpart in the La Liga by 2-1,

In that match, the Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema scored the opening goal for the Madrid side and then Casemiro scored the second goal for the Los Blancos side and that turned out to be the winner for them.

After last night’s game, they are now five points clearer than the Barcelona side with one extra game in their hand and their rival Barcelona will play their next match against Valencia,

But it is sure that they will head into the international duties as league leaders.

But Zidane told his players not to rest their wreath.

After the match, Zidane said: "We won on a difficult pitch,"

"We suffered a huge amount but we played with personality at the same time.

"We know Athletic will not give up until the end and they cause us some problems. They got a goal in the second half when they were playing well.

"It was important to win – we're still on a good run. There are 11 games left, we're top, but that means nothing. We know there are still difficult games left."

"Karim had a great game, more or less in the middle,"

"In the end, we looked for more balance with a 4-2-2. Taking off Ronaldo doesn't mean anything – he can go off from time to time. He was happy with the match.

"We needed more balance, and to defend more together. Cristiano, Gareth [Bale] and Karim gave a lot – that's why we changed with Isco and [Alvaro] Morata.

"I was happy because we won the game, and that's how I'll stay."
