ZICO – FC GOA CAN MAKE THE PLAY-OFFS WITH 20 POINTS

The FC Goa honcho {Zico} wants his team to bag some points under their belt to make it to the top four of Hero Indian Super League.

The Garus are completely left stranded at the last on the ISL points table with just four points under their name though a win against the Delhi Dynamos on Sunday would see them finishing the first leg with seven points.

They badly need a win against Delhi so they can start the second leg on a more refreshing mode.

"I think every game is crucial. For the situation that we are in now, we have to win. So we can finish the first phase with seven points and from then on, it’s another phase and we can keep on trying,":said the former Brazilian international.

Zico has emphasized on the fact that they need to create more chances and finish them back of the nets so they can climb up the points table while excluding external factors.

"I think it is difficult to say that there were external factors to blame. What we are seeing is that the players are trying their best and trying to win. If you see the matches, you can see that we are not being dominated, they are equal contests. We haven’t been able to finish and that we have to improve," he elaborated.

"Now it’s very easy to say that if we had different players it would have been different. I don’t think like this and I want to make it happen with the resources and players at my disposal," he further explained.

The 63 year old Gaurs boss doesn’t want to hold his striker Robin Singh for not making it to the score sheet this season.

"I always expect a player to give his 100 per cent. Unfortunately, Robin did not show it so far in the ground. It could be due to injuries and a long time without playing. But it’s not just Robin, there are other players too who haven’t played for long and they have to be better. Only then can we do better,: the 63 year old added.
