The Lions fell behind after a Fulganco Cardozo’s goal for FC Goa in the 31stminute before a hat-trick and two goals from Marcelinho and Richard Gadze respectively, which helps the home side Delhi Dynamos FC to name their fifth win of the season.
And the Italian man Gianluca Zambrotta has admitted that he is happy with his side’s performance, especially in the second half on Sunday
As speaking to the media at the post-match press conference, Delhi head coach Gianluca Zambrotta said,
“I didn’t like the game today in the first half as we weren’t able to change the rhythm and I was not happy about that. I was very happy about the second half as we maintained a very good rhythm, good pressure and possession to play well,”
After Sunday’s match Delhi went to the second position of the Hero ISL 2016 table and look on course for their second semis appearance in a row, but the 39-year-old Zambrotta wasn’t prepared to think too far ahead and insisted of that he is focusing on their next away game against the Highlanders Northeast United FC, who are also in search of three points in order to make it to the semis,
As Zambrotta admitted,
“Unfortunately, we haven’t reached the semi-finals as yet. So we have to focus on our next game, which is against a very difficult team, and for this reason it’s very important to plan step by step,”
“We have a trip tomorrow and we have two days for the next game and we need to look at our players’ conditions and recovery and as of now I haven’t planned anything tactical for the match against Northeast.” the Italian said.
