The English international and Manchester United’s forward, midfielder Wayne Rooney was approached by the Chinese Super League side club Beijing Guoan during the summer.
As the Chinese club Beijing Guoan’s chairman Luo Ning has recently revealed the approach, and talks with the Manchester United captain's and the England national team captain during the summer, but got dismissed as Rooney rejected a move to Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan because he wants to stay in Manchester United as long as possible.
The 31-years-old Manchester United’s midfielder Wayne Rooney, who is currently on international duty with England, where he is expected to captain his national side in Friday's World Cup qualifier against Scotland is currently going through a poor form and lost his starting XI place in Mourinho's first team this season but made his return for the 3-1 win over Swansea City on Sunday in which he notched two assists.
And the midfielder Rooney, who reportedly earns more than £300,000 a week on a contract which runs until 2019 with Manchester United, was offered a move to the Chinese side Beijing Guoan but Rooney rejected to move.
As the Beijing Guoan’s chairman Luo Ning said,
"We indeed made an approach for Rooney at the beginning of the season but he's informed us that he wants to stay in Manchester United,"
"Rooney says he'll keep playing in the Premier League as long as his health allows. We even met with his agent [Paul Stratford]."
