INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE:

The league is co-promoted by IMG-Reliance (a joint venture between IMG and Reliance Industries), Star India and supported by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). India’s leading industrialists and celebrities from sports as well as the Indian film industry have heavily invested in the league’s eight franchises based in the following cities: Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune to present an international-quality domestic football competition, to engage hundreds of millions of passionate and proud Indian football fans, to encourage and facilitate the masses to start playing the sport and mainly to produce a large pool of talented Indian players and ‘heroes’ to play for the Indian national team.
The hotbed of football in India, the Northeast region is one of the main origin of Indian football talent, who has always been providing some of the quality footballer to Indian football like the Indian legend Baichung Bhutia and the current Indian skipper Sunil Chhetri and Let’s not miss a chance to read about a few of the youngster’s from Northeast India who have displayed their impressive skills to make a mark for themselves in the field of football.
HERE’S FIVE PLAYERS WHO CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF MANY DURING THE INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE ALL SEASONS,
5/ Aiborlang Khongjee: The former Northeast United FC’s defender Aiborlang Khongjee, who is currently playing for the Mumbai City, whose defence has been solid and impenetrable in the Indian Super League season 3 and the 28-year-old player from Meghalaya is also to get credit for that.
4/ Daniel Lalhlimpuia: The youngster from Mizoram Daniel Lalhlimpuia, who is playing for the Chennaiyin FC along with Jerry Lalrinzuala have been touted by the Chennaiyin FC’s coach Matarezzi as two of the best young players in the country, but the Mizo striker has played just a handful of matches for Chennaiyin FC due to obligations with Bengaluru FC this season.
3/ Milan Singh: The player from Manipur has been amazing to watch in this season’s ISL as he forms an integral part of Delhi Dynamos attack. The 24-year-old has quite a fan following in the Northeast and fans will hope to see him at his best in the coming matches.
2/ Holicharan Narzary: The Northeast United FC’s forward Holicharan Narzary is also one of the rising talent for the Indian Football, although his current club Northeast United FC just barely missed out on playing the semi-finals of the Hero Indian Super League this season, the 22-year-old Holicharan Narzary from Assam had some good games and is one to look out for in the coming years.
1/ Jerry Lalrinzuala: The 18-year-old defender Jerry Lalrinzuala from Mizoram who plays for Chennaiyin has been the best youngster of the season.
Even after having a shaky start of the season, the young boy from Mizoram has caught the attention of many during the Indian Super League this season with his quality defending and he is by far one of the best young Indian players as he continued to mesmerize football fans in the country.
