The Northeast based I league club Aizawl FC is all set to host the current I league table toppers Kolkata based I league giant East Bengal FC in a 10th round encounter of the ongoing Hero I-League season on Monday.

Even though the Kolkata based I league giant East Bengal FC are dominating the league this season, but they could only muster a point against Aizawl FC at Barasat Stadium in their first match of the season.

As the match ended with a 1-1 score line as the 25-year-old Uganda international Ivan Bukenya cancelled out Gurwinder Singh’s own goal to deny Aizawl FC’s win in their opening fixture.

And now the Red & Golda are travelling to Aizawl to play against Aizawl FC, who are currently enjoying the third spot in the Hero I-League table with 17 points playing the same number of matches played by the table toppers East Bengal FC.

And the head coach of East Bengal FC, the 60-year-old English man Trevor Morgan believes it will be no easy task to do. Morgan admits to defeat Aizawl FC in their home will not be an easy task for East Bengal, as Aizawl FC, so far, has an unscathed season at their home suffering no defeats. 

As in an interview Morgan said, “We are not expecting anything less than a tough game from Aizawl FC tomorrow.”
