But the France international Paul Pogba has failed to dominate matches on a regular basis, even though he has already scored seven goals and made five assists since his return to Old Trafford last summer.
And there is also an extraordinary stat that the 23-year-old Pogba has hit the woodwork eight times this season, which is more than any other Premier League player and if those had all gone in then Pogba would have 15 goals to his name, the perception of his performances would be markedly better.
Either way, the 28-year-old Manchester United’s attacking midfielder Juan Mata feels there is too much pressure on the 23-year-old.
As recently Mata told the BBC’s Premier League Show, “I imagine it is not easy,”
“When the big transfer comes and the expectations are high, sometimes people lose perception of reality.”
