The Kerala Blasters Head coach Steve Coppell made it clear that one goal lead that his side empowers against the Delhi Dynamos will have no carrying to the Delhi Home ground on the second leg.
Today the Kerala Blasters will play their second leg semi final match against Delhi Dynamos at their home ground, the Kerala side will try to win against Delhi and go to the final and they will look to penance the Goliath in the first season of the INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE in front of their home crowd.
In the first leg Coppell’s men scored a crucial home goal and now that have a one goal lead before the second leg against Delhi Dynamos.
But the Kerala gaffer thinks that if they played with a mentality that they are traveling to Delhi to draw their match then they will ring their own death.
“We are approaching the match thinking that we don’t have an advantage. It’s a game in isolation. That’s the way we are looking at this. It’s as if we’re coming here for a league fixture. Obviously we are trying to prepare as well as we can. Both sides have had to rush back to Delhi after the first leg, not a lot of preparation time.
“As far as we’re concerned, it is 0-0 and we start again. It is better to have that mentality rather than to go in to the game looking to protect something. First and foremost, we can’t do it. We are not very good at that. And secondly, you can do nothing better than let the game treat itself,” the Kerala Blaster coach said.
This season under Gianluca Zambrotta the Lions were unbeaten at their home ground and the trio Kean Lewis and Marcelinho, and Richard Gadze, and addition by Florent Malouda, in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium they run frantically there.
And questioned asked to the Kerala gaffer that the factious run of the Delhi Dynamos was a concern for his men,
He replied: “Yes, they have a very good record at home, but the prize of this game is high for either side. Also, they haven’t won every game at home, and they need to win tomorrow or else they’re out. We are not thinking too much about it and certainly they won’t be thinking too much about it as well,”
