Indian Super League: Delhi Dynamos appointed midfielder Simone Barone as their assistant coach for the coming session of ISL
Reports say the club did an excellent work to bring in one of the reputed players of the soccer world. Barone was one of the key players in the World Cup tournament of 2006 and here will be working as the assistant coach for the club beside Gianluca Zambrotta, the head coach of Delhi boys.
The club has also brought in Sebastian Delgado from Spain to handle the post of Goal-keeping coach and Italian Roberto Ghielmetti to look after the fitness of the team. Another Italian Mario Cerra signed in as the new team manager and will also be working as the medico assistant of the club.
After a long time, Delhi Dynamos’ coach Zambrotta and assistant coach Barone will work together being in the same team as they did the same in 2006 World Cup final to defeat France in an outstanding match. Barone, very greatful to the club for giving him a chance to prove his worth.
"I am delighted to join the Delhi Dynamos team. This is my first senior team coaching stint and I am really looking forward to it, I am thankful to the club management for this opportunity. I am really excited about this new phase of my career and hope to assist the team to its first title in the ISL," expressed Barone.
"I'm very happy to work with Gianluca. I'm looking forward to a successful season with the club." the new assistant coach concluded.
Barone appeared in around 356 club matches where he stands with a total goal tally of 23. He marked his debut 1997 and in 2012 he ended his carreer and went to coach the Modena U-19 team.
