The Argentine coach has cut down his contract by two years and expected to sign for Inter Milan.
Diego Simone has signed Atletico Madrid contract few months ago and everyone is hoping that he be there until 2020, but he recently reduced his contract by two seasons.
The Argentine joined the Atletico Madrid in 2011 and made a huge impact there, and he also plays for Atletico Madrid as a player for two seasons. Under his coaching Atletico have managed to won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Supercopa, and reached two champions leagues finals.
But after losing the champions league final this year on 28 th May at San Siro to their grim rivals Real Madrid, Diego decide he needs some time to thinks about his future.
La Liga season has started and the Argentine with them once again as competitive as ever but still he just cut down his contract by two years from 2020 to 2018.
"We have always taken the best decisions for the club and for the team – and that is what we have decided," Simeone said in a press conference last week as he confirmed his deal had been shortened by mutual agreement. And he added: "It is a decision that doesn't alter the option to keep renewing when the contract finishes."
All the while the 46 year old argentine has a close relation with Atletico Madrid but he is keen to coach in different leagues and wants to manage the Argentinean national team one day.
