Ronaldo relieved to get off the mark for Juventus

Football News: After three goalless matches the new Juventus man opened his account with a double for the Old Lady side and gets them a victory over Sassuolo.

Ronaldo scored his maiden Serie A goal for Juventus.

The 33-year-old superstar thanked his teammates to help him out in his dry spell after he scored a brace last night and gave his side a 2-1 victory over their Serie A counterparts.

In his debut season in Serie A the Juventus man failed to score a solo goal in his first three matches for them following his €112million transfer from Madrid, but last night he managed to break his duck for them.

In the second half of the match, he breaks the deadlock for Juventus in the 50th minutes and scored his second for them just 15 minutes after it, angling a drive from outside a box to secure a point for his new side.

In the post-match presentation, Ronaldo voiced: "I'm very happy, we started well,"

"Sassuolo defends well, but we put in an intense performance and deserved to win.

"I really wanted to score these first goals and I'm happy to have found the net.

"This is football. The important thing is that the team wins. Obviously, I was a little tense with all the talk of Real Madrid and not scoring, but I thank my team-mates for supporting me throughout.

"I knew that I was working well and it was only a matter of time. I am adapting well to Italian football."

Now Juventus travels to Valencia for their season-opening Champions league game, and Ronaldo is ready to conquer the competition again with his new team.
