Ronaldo deciphers that his team mate Pepe played far better than Antoine Griezmann
Cristiano Ronaldo came out with a theory that his team-mate Pepe from Portugal and Real Madrid played better than award winner Antoine Griezmann at EURO 2016. He also feels that Pepe deserved the title of “Player of the Tournament” which was presented to Griezmann.
Antoine Griezmann, the French international scored six goals in the whole tournament and was honoured with the “Golden Boot” along with “Player of the Tournament”. His team had to taste defeat in the hands of Portugal at the final game.
Ronaldo stands for his mate saying Pepe played exceptionally good in all matches of the tournament and he was to be honoured as he worth it.
"In my book, Pepe was extraordinary this year. It was possibly his best season.” told Ronaldo to UEFA.com
"He was undoubtedly Portugal's best player and one of Real Madrid's best players in the Champions League.
"I'm delighted he was selected in the Team of the Tournament at the Euros – in my opinion Pepe was the best player at the Euros." the superstar added.
Currently Ronaldo is on the list of UEFA’s Best Player in Europe Award along with Gareth Bale and Griezmann. The winner is to be announced on Thursday.
