Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo seeks a decade time to be in his team
Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo says he wants to spend some more time in his team and will retire when his age gets to 41. Currently, he is of 31 and one of the most celebrated player of the soccer universe.
The star was presented with UEFA's Best Player in Europe award on Thursday following a year where he won Champions League from Madrid and EURO 2016 being in Portugal. He seeks an extension of the contract of his present team which is about to end in June 2018 and when asked about it, he replied "That's what I want.”
The superstar also added "I'm in the best club in the world and I want to finish in this club at 41. Now I need to be calm but I'm aim is to extend my contract and stay in the club that I like the most.""I want to maintain myself at this level. I will work to achieve it as I've done every year. I don't need to look at anyone else, I motivate myself. What I want is to be competitive for another year."
Ronaldo netted 51 goals and had a set up of 13 in 48 appearances for his club in the last term. He was the astonishing man to convert the winning penalty to a shootout and secured the winning title of La Liga against Atletico Madrid in the finals. After this, he took the post of captain and led Portugal in EURO 2016 where he gained a knee injury at the final against the hosts, France.
"From a collective standpoint, it was the best season of my career, I'm proud that I won the European Championship and the Champions League. I cried after I won both. But I want to win more titles. I want to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League and go to the World Cup with Portugal." said Ronaldo.
The superstar is being considered as the top scorer of the Real Madrid club with a statistics of 362 goals in a total of 342 games. After his knee injury, he is expected to show up at home in Celta Vigo on Saturday.
