Toni Kross defended his club coach, Zinedine Zidane, pointing the club’s trophy under his manager.


This season the French manager is under fire, as his side is struggling in their domestic league and they are 17 points back than their arch-rivals Barcelona.


But their victory over Paris Saint Germain by 3-0 goals in the first leg at Bernabeu eased some pressure from the Real Madrid gaffer.


Toni Kross dismissed criticism against Zidane. Who takes the helm of Real Madrid in 2016 and since then he has won eight trophies with the Spanish giants.


In an interview, the German midfielder says: "In a team like Real Madrid, arguments always arise when things are not going well,"


"Zidane has won eight titles in two years, that's more than enough."


In their Champions League clash against PSG, the Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a brace, and Marcelo got the third goal for Madrid, that puts them one step closer to the quarterfinals.


Kross elucidates about the importance of Champions League, a competition that they Real Madrid are winning for the last two seasons.


Kross said: "We have gone through a difficult phase, but in recent weeks we have raised our level and I am confident that we will be very successful going forward,"


"This victory is very important because the Champions League is the only competition we can win right now.


"Although I didn't feel all of the pressure was on us because we won the last two. We are Real Madrid, so it's always there."


On March 6th Madrid will travel to France for their second leg fixture and meantime they will play four domestic games.
