The former Spain international and FC Barcelona’s star midfielder Xavier Hernández Creus is simply known as Xavi has recently admitted that the new Manchester City’s boss Pep Guardiola is a winner and he will definitely win everything with the City’s squad this season.
The 36-years-old former Barcelona’s midfielder Xavi is currently playing for the Qatari club Al Sadd SC and he feels like his former FC Barcelona’s coach Guardiola will win three or four trophies this season because he wants to win it all and Xavi also admits that there is no reason Pep Guardiola cannot lead the Premier League giant Manchester City to the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
The 45-years-old Spanish professional football coach Pep Guardiola had a great start of this season with five wins in Manchester City’s first five league games and beating Borussia Monchengladbach in their opening Champions League match on Thursday 15 Sep.
And Xavi believes that his former FC Barcelona boss who is currently leading the Premier League giant Manchester City will take City to the new heights,
As Xavi said in an interview with Goal,
"Pep is a winner,"
"He will want to win it all this season, and with the squad Manchester City have there is no reason he can't achieve that.”
"He won the treble with Barcelona and he can win three or four trophies this season. He will want to win it all, of course, the league and Champions League are special – but his ambition will be to win every competition.
"Manchester City don't have a second team – it's unfair to call them that. Of course Pep will make changes in the domestic cup competitions, but the players he will be bringing in will be world class international players – that is the strength of the Manchester City squad. You cannot win multiple trophies with 11 players, you need a squad." He added.
Xavi also warned the City’s players that even if they won their first five consecutive league matches, Guardiola will not allow complacency in the dressing room.
"Manchester City have already established a nice lead in the Premier League, but I know Pep and he will not allow complacency in the dressing room.
"They could be 20 points clear – and he would still not allow complacency. Until the league is won – he will insist on full focus." Xavi concluded.
