OFFICIAL: SWANSEA CITY A.F.C. SIGNS ALFIE MAWSON

The Welsh professional football club Swansea City F.C. has recently confirmed their sixth summer signing of the Barnsley defender Alfie Mawson.

Following Borja Baston, Fernando Llorente, Leroy Fer, Mike van der Hoorn and Mark Birighitti.

And Alfie Mawson’s former club Barnsley FC has also twitted a statement where they thanked Mawson’s for his all contribution to the club,

As Barnsley FC stated, “We would like to thank @AlfieMawson for his contribution to the Club over the past 14 months and we wish him all the best in his career”

The 22-years-old Mawson has made 48 appearances and also scored seven goals for the Barnsley last season.

And the young centre back Alfie Mawson, who has helped his former club to win the last season’s Football League title and also helped to achieve the promotion to the second tier is now looking forward to his new move to the Swansea City A.F.C.

Mawson also admitted that he is very happy with the move,

As he said in an interview with the Swansea's official website, “Coming here is a fantastic opportunity for me. Two-and-a-half or three years ago I was playing in the Conference [National League].

"It's a big leap, a big step up for me, even from the Championship, but it's an opportunity I am going to try to grab with both hands.

"I think having confidence is massive. I genuinely feel I can make the step up, although I know that only time will tell.

"I am sure I will learn things about myself and my game, but I am here to improve as a player and a person.

"I am really looking forward to the opportunity. It's great to have been purchased by such a big club and a club I feel is very suited to me. I am just looking forward to getting going now.”
