Indian Super League: Diego Forlan confirms the signing in Mumbai City
Forlan formalized his signing in Mumbai City FC on a deal for three months. The Uruguay international helped his childhood club Penarol to win the Apertura league in Uruguay first division in 2015-16 session. He scored 8 goals in 31 matches, after that he circulated he will not be coming anymore, won the golden ball in 2010 for the best player in 2010 World Cup and winner of Pichichi trophy twice.
"They want to grow football, something that is understandable given the population, next year they want to extend it to seven months and then to a whole year. For now, though, it is three months [my contract]." said Forlan.
Mumbai FC is now lacking 9 points to level FC Goa. Matias Defederico of Argentina will also join the club with Forlan.
