The former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly believes, MS could have been captained team India in test format for longer time.

The Indian wicket keeper batsman MS Dhoni is considered as the best Indian ODI captain so far, and second in the world after the Australian Ricky Ponting, also in the longer format of the game he has got some great records to his name, tough some Cricket pundits believes that he was not a good leader in the longer format of the game, and he could have accomplished a lot what he has got as a test captain. And the Prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly is the latest to join this bandwagon.

The veteran Sourav Ganguly who himself was a great leader for team India, played a couple of matches under Dhoni’s captaincy. In an interview with NDTV, the question asked to Sourav, to pick between MS Dhoni and between Virat Kohli as a better test captain, Sourav said it is really hard to compare both of them, but Dhoni could have done something more as a test captain.

Ganguly added: “Very difficult to compare, although MS (Dhoni) has been fabulous. MS in the shorter format has been a remarkable captain, fantastic record, may be in the Test format he should have done a bit better,”

“Virat (Kohli) has got the capabilities of becoming a very very good captain, but for me, the greatest captain is Steve Waugh,”

But in 2013, Dhoni had become the most successful Indian test captain ever, when he surpassed the southpaw’s record of 21 wins of 49 test matches, then the Bengal tiger heaped praised about his successor and tagged him the all-time greatest captain of team India.

In the year of 2014, Dhoni shocked the world after step down from the captaincy and took retirement from the longer version of the game.
