The Former Manchester United man Gary Neville avouched that Chelsea’s win over Tottenham last day proves that Players are backing Antonio Conte.
This season Antonio Conte has cut a frustrated figure accordant a fall out with the Striker Diego Costa, Matic’s departure to Manchester United and after that bite the dust against the Arsenal side in the Community Shield final and in their Opening game against Burnley in the EPL.
But last day they defeated the Tottenham side at Wembley with the help of Marcos Alonso who scored two goals for the Blues and earned three crucial points for Chelsea,
The Sky Sports Football pundit Gary Neville thinks that win was an important win for the Chelsea side.
Neville said: "In the last two or three weeks, people have been writing Chelsea off,"
"I don't think it's unfair for us, the media, to be asking questions around Chelsea after losing the first game in such fashion, the Costa situation rumbling on and the Matic situation.
"We are aware of what happened last time after Chelsea won the title. Mancini, Ranieri, and Mourinho have all been sacked pretty quickly after winning the title.
"You thought today before the game, this was more than three points for Chelsea because you could see if they were beaten here today and beaten well it could start to unravel a little bit.
"They stood up today. They stood up like champions. They pulled together a makeshift team, this is certainly not their first XI, and they've shown something today.
"They've shown they are actually with the manager. If you think about the accusations last time Chelsea won the league it's that they weren't with Mourinho.
"Today they played, even when they went to 1-1, brilliantly. They put in a good performance against a really good Tottenham team."
Neville said Chelsea started strongly in their last match and they were close in the opening stages with Alvaro Morata and before Alonso puts a stunner from the free kick for them.
In that match, Chelsea missed out many of their big guns like Eden Hazard, Fabregas, and Cahill but still, they showcased wonderful performance and Neville accolades about Conte’s tactics.
