Mourinho: Martial needed his goal

Mourinho impressed with the 20 year old winger’s amazing strike at Old Trafford it will help recapture his confident after a slow start.

The special one fell that the French international’s goal will help him to back towards his best form.

Antonio Martial ended a 10 game hare by coming of the benched against Stock City, and he scored an impressive goal against them in the 69th minute at Old Trafford, after that the Welshman scores the equalizer for his team.

The 20 year old failed to showcase his skill under the Portuguese, but the manager believes that after Sunday’s breakthrough could make a turning point.

"He needs that," said the Portuguese. "Amazing goal, and very good initiative for his confidence, from his personal point of view."

On that day the Stock city goalkeeper made some important saves for his team, he made excellent saves to elude Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jesse Lingard, while Paul Pogba  kick a pair of gild edged chances before hitting the crossbar.

"I never criticise my players for missing chances," he said. "Their goalkeeper is the man of the match and obviously deservedly.

"There was the post too, there are chances when we could do better, but I don't criticise my players. There were naive mistakes sometimes. We should not just be with three points, but also with a fat result.

"Today was the best performance [of the season] from the minute one. Everything was beautiful, the first chance was beautiful.

"Paul's chance it was beautiful football. It was frustrating, but the performance was there."
