The veteran Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic left the Manchester United side last season after his contract expires with them, but Mourinho opens the door for the striker for the upcoming season.
Jose Mourinho suggested offering Zlatan Ibrahimovic a fresh new contract for the upcoming season though last season he left the club after his contract expires with the Red Devils side.
Last season Ibrahimovic had a great season with the Manchester United side, last season he has made 46 appearances for them and scored 28 goals in all competition, but last season in their match against Anderlecht in the Europa league quarter final he picked up an injury and got sidelined for the rest of the season.
Last season Manchester United side won the Europa league and by winning that they qualify themselves for the next season’s Champions league football but last season Ibrahimovic hinted in his Instagram post that he would seek for a new club in this season.
Mourinho is willing to add him in this season but if he can prove his fitness level then only.
Mourinho added: "Possibly, it's open. Of course, we wanted to be honest and open and leave everything for him to make the decision,"
"At the same time, let's make a decision that makes us all happy and if that is for him to stay and for us to wait – let's say in December maybe, because I don't think before December he can get back to competitive football – but why not wait for a player who gave us so much?
"We are changing ideas and it's with Mr [chief executive Ed] Woodward and Zlatan's agent [Mino Raiola], but the final decision is the best for the player."
