MOHAMED SISSOKO JOINS FC PUNE CITY AS MARQUEE

FC Pune city have brought the former Liverpool, Juventus and PSG midfielder Mohamed Sissoko as a replacement of injured marquee player Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The Malian recently man played for West Brom in their 1-0 win over Delhi Dynamos in last month.

The Malian was a part of the Liverpool side when they won the community shield in 20016, and FA Cup in 2005-2006,he has also won UEFA Super Cup in 2004 and in 2005,first one with the Spanish club Valencia and the second one with the Reds.in 2003-2004 he also has won the La Liga with Los Che.

“The moment FC Pune City expressed their interest and discussed their plans, I knew this was the challenge I would love to take up. Coach Habas and FC Pune City management showed full confidence in me and I will do everything in my abilities to fight for a place in starting XI for every game because FC Pune City team is so good and compact,” said the Mali international.

The Spanish coach Antinio Habas was pleased with Sissoko’s addition and believe the addition will boost in there crave to be the ISL champions this year.

“Sissoko is a true professional having played for reputed clubs across Europe. He told us that he is ready to take the field whenever required. He is known to be a great ball winner, a role that will allow him to support our offence for winning back possession.
