MILITO SAYS, INTER MILANS ICARDI IS ON PAR WITH HIGUAIN

The former Inter Milan legend compared his fellow countryman and believes that Icardi has proven worthy to challenge the juventus striker to become the Serie A top scorer.

 

 

Former Nerazzurri striker believes that Mauro Icardi is a par with the juventus striker and backs both his compatriots to go for the serie A top scorers position.

 

Juventus and Inter Milan met this Sunday evening in Derby d'Italia, where Icardi scored two goals and Inter manage to win the match by 2-1.

 

Milito who has won the Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010 under Jose Mourinho was surprised by the errors of Juventus record singing while Inter Milan holded back Icardi with high regard. 

 

 

 

Milito told the Gazzetta dello Sport: "[Massimiliano] Allegri will have had his reasons, but I was very surprised when I saw Pipa  [Higuain] on the bench,"
"But Icardi is worth the same as Higuain. For the title of top-scorer [in Serie A], I see a fight between the two of them."

 

Icardi has scored four goals for Inter Milan in this season so far and also assisted for Ivan Perisic goal, the young Argentinean was praised by the former Nerazzurri striker.

 

"He [Icardi] is a killer in the box and everyone knows it, but against Juve he was a real team man," he said.

 

"This was demonstrated by the way he picked up fouls for the team against [Leonardo] Bonucci and [Giorgio] Chiellini, and the ease with which, even when it seemed like he had lost an opportunity, he put in the cross to Perisic.

"And he's only 23 years old!"
