The 63 year old two time world cup winner Argentine thinks that Lionel Messi lacks the expertise of a good leader, and the Argentine center back Ramiro Funes Mori should replace him.

Daniel Passarella former Argentine skipper believes that Messi is not the capable person to Captain the Argentine squad.

The center back Passarella, under him Argentina won the first world cup back in 1978 and it was the first time that Argentina taste the glory and after that in 1986 when Argentine won their second world cup in Mexico he was a part of that crew.

In 1993 the south American giants has last won their major international trophy Copa America after that they did not manage to win any single trophies, and Messi suffered defeat in his four finals, three of which came in the last previous years.

In the last  year Copa America final Messi missed a Penalty against Chile in the Copa America final and for this Argentina faced another defeat in the final agaisnt chile and then the Argentine deceleard his retirement for his national side.

After that under Edgardo Bauzahe changed his decision and he comes back for his team and took the arm band again for his country.

According to Passarella Ramiro Funes Mori is a better option for Argentina captain role.

"Not giving the captaincy of Argentina to Messi would take a weight off of him," said the former Argentina coach in an interview with Chilean publication El Mercurio.

"I think Argentina already have a great leader, which is Ramiro Funes Mori. He should be the captain.

"The leader of the group is something different to the way you play and the talent of each player.

"I admire Messi, but I think his personality, his way of being, is withdrawn and timid."
