Messi Misses Penalty; Valverde Still Backs Him.

The Barcelona legend, Messi has failed to convert yet another penalty against Real Valladoid. But the Barcelona boss, Valverde is not worried about Messi and still backs him.

Though La-Liga Leaders won the match by 1-0 , through a 43rd minute penalty on Saturday . Though the penalty was scored by Messi and he missed the other one.

In the last 11 seasons , Lionel Messi has scored more than 30 goals for Barcelona . Which means 1 missed penalty wouldn’t affect Messi or the Team.

Valvarde commented about Messi taking penalty :

No, no, I’m not particularly nervous. I was convinced he was going to score both.

Leo is a safe bet. He could have scored more goals as well.

Barcelona are the defending champions . They had to really fight hard to win against Valladoid .

After three consecutive draws against Valencia and Atletic Bilbao , their performance has been questioned. Barcelona also drew against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals. They were desperate to return to winning ways. 

Though the performance of Barcelona is questionable , but coach Valverde is confident his side will recover soon . 

Valverde told to Reporters :

In the first half, we had very little fluidity in attack and did not move the ball with the necessary speed.

They changed their system and we were not fluent and could not circulate things quickly but their goalkeeper did well. Some games are won like that, though, and Tuesday [against Lyon] will be another challenge for us.

I see the team as being ready to give their best now and get back to that. Sometimes you won’t be brilliant in every game but there are four important matches coming up and we will go step by step.

Barcelona will face Lyon on their homegrounds in the Champions League on Tuesday. This will come after their last-16 tie. After that theywill face Sevilla and Back2Back matches against Real Madrid in the second leg of Copa del Rey Final.
