Football News: The Croatian head honcho believes that the duo Messi and Ronaldo are the best but this 2018 belongs to their star man Luka Modric.
Modric steals the limelight from Messi and Ronaldo.
In the recent past the 33-year-old Madrid man collected the FIFA best Men’s player award and also earlier in this year he has won the FIFA Golden Ball for his wonderful performance in the showpiece event.
He pipped the five times Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and the Liverpool star man Mo Salah for the FIFA award and now he is one of the contenders to claim the Ballon d’Or award.
This award has been shared by the duo for the last ten years, but the Croatian gaffer Zlatko Dalic believes Modric is the man who can break their duopoly.
Dalic voiced: "He totally deserved it (the FIFA Best award). He was the best player at the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, and then he won the Champions League and took Croatia to second place at the World Cup, where he was the most outstanding player of the tournament,"
"What more can you ask for? I know that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the best players in the world, but this is Luka Modric's year.
"He's our captain, the most important player in our team, and he's won every trophy there is to win with Real Madrid. What he needed was a big result with the national team and he got it this year with that second place at the World Cup.
"He was the team's leader, a real captain, giving his all the whole time. He deserves all the praise and awards that have come his way. He's also a great person, a great professional and he's in the form of his life."
The Croatian coach was also got nominated for 2018 Best Men’s coach prize having let his country take to their first world cup final this year.
