The 55 year old German football manager and former player believe that there is no room for Thomas Muller in the Bayern Munich team in the second half of the season.

This season under the Italian coach the 27 year old attacker has struggled and he has only managed to score four goals for them in his 22 appearances for them in all competition.

And the former Die Roten player also believes in this second half the German international must uplift his game to get a spot in the starting lineup.

In his column Lothar Matthaus wrote: "It will be really tough for Muller to fight himself back into the starting XI in the second half of the season,

"There is not really a position in Ancelotti's formation that suits him.

"Arjen Robben is a better option on the right wing and Bayern do not really play with a support striker.

"They are playing an attacking midfielder behind Robert Lewandowski instead and I think Thiago Alcantara is the right man for that role. He is much more flexible than Muller."
