Diego Maradona thinks Messi’s ban was still wrong to be set aside; also he avouched he feels Messi is more like a teddy bear than a Footballer.
The Argentine captain can play for his country in their next World cup qualifier matches after just missed out one match of an his four-match ban.
During Argentina’s match against Chile, he picked up the suspension for Insulting match officials during the match.
Maradona said in Radio La Red: "It makes absolutely no sense, but Leo deserved [to be sanctioned] for one more match and I say that with my heart in my hand.
"They reduced the ban for the same reason they always do with star players and veteran players
"Messi is not the type of player to insult anyone. I managed him for one year and he is more like a teddy bear than a football player."
He thinks Messi is fortunate to get rid of his suspension after missing their last match against Bolivia by 2-0 goals, the World cup winner is happy to save him back on the national side.
Maradona voiced: "You have to congratulate all those who made it possible to get Messi's ban reduced.
"I am happy with the decision, both for Messi and because I am Argentine. We can return to dreaming about the World Cup again."
Now Argentina is sitting at a fifth of the table and a top four finish of the table automatically qualified themselves to the main stage of World cup for Russia 2018.
