MANCHESTER UNITED CANNOT WIN THIS LEAGUE WITH THESE PLAYERS: PAUL SCHOLES

The former Manchester United legend Paul Scholes was not impressed with the performance of Jose Mourinho’s boys on Thursday night as United lost to the Turkish side Fenerbahce in the Europa League on 3rd Nov.

This is not the first time that United struggled to create opportunities in fact Mourinho’s side have now won only two of their last seven matches in all competitions.

And the former Manchester legend Paul Scholes believes that Manchester United cannot win this league with these players, as he was not impressed after the defeat to Fenerbahce and Scholes does not expect things to get better anytime soon.

As in an interview with BT Sport Paul Scholes said,

"We have had a painful three years. The next 18 months to two years could be very similar until this manager gets the team he wants,"

"This team in two years will be unrecognizable from what it is now. Whatever we do in this two years has to be a bonus.

"It has shown in the last three years that they can't win this league with these players."

Scholes added that on Thursday night, for most of the game, Fenerbahce bullied United and the Red Devils couldn't handle it.

"There is only so much the manager can do. Once the players cross the line, they have to be ready and they weren't tonight.

"They conceded that goal early on. One of the centre-halves have to pick up the striker.

"Fenerbahce got right about them and United were rattled, they couldn't handle it.

"For most of the game, they bullied United."

And lastly Scholes expressed his frustration on the defensive duo Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo as he feels they've got no pace, they don't get physical and he believes it’s a matter of worry.

As Scholes added,

"United have two big problems at the minute,"

"They are really struggling to score goals and to win games of football with Blind and Rojo at centre-half, they almost need to score three.

"They look like they're going to concede goals all the time. They don't sense danger, they've got no pace, they don't get physical. It's a worry."

The former England international and Manchester United’s striker Michael Owen also expressed his disappointment after the defeat to Fenerbahce.

Michael Owen said,

"In the last couple of seasons, you always think United will be alright. That they'll score last minute goals and pull themselves out of it.

"But that's from 10-15 years ago. It doesn't happen anymore. You've got to be worried.

"There have been too many poor results. They can't slip up and they are quite lucky to still have a realistic chance to go through."
