Last night Valencia secured 2-1 win against Madrid at Mestalla, with the returning coach explains that it is hard to motivate the players for the match.
The Frenchman accepting that his first defeat after returning as a manager can be partly explained by a lack of motivation.
Yesterday Madrid lost the match by 2-1 goals, Goncalo Guedes and Ezequiel Garay scored the goals for Valencia before the Madrid frontman Karim Benzema scored the consolation for the Los Blancos side.
They have won their previous two matches under Zidane, where in the last match Benzema rescued Madrid with a late strike against the Bottom side Huesca at the Weekend.
Right now Madrid are 13 points adrift of the first placed Barcelona, but 11 points clearer than the fifth placed Valencia, and this leaving them little to play for.
In a press conference, Zidane voiced: “They will try to finish the season in the best possible way,”
“But these players are professionals and when they put on the shirt of this team they know they have to go for it and they do it.”
The Frenchman revolves his previous comments that he does not considered that the closing weeks of the season as an audition for his squad.
He added: “This is not an exam at all because these people are Real Madrid players,”
“We are going through a complicated moment. We must also live the bad moments, it will not change anything.”
