The former Red Devil midfielder believes that the Reds have the attacking quality with them; they have managed to build a balanced team this season.
Paul Scholes has given a hint Liverpool to challenge for the premier league title in 2016-2017.
The Reds have taken 13 points from their six games and now they are sitting fourth in the table at the end of this month.
The former England international player believes that they have enough goals in the team to hill a series title challenge.
"Liverpool look like they're a team who can win the league," he told BT Sport. "I think it's a big test for United to go there [on October 17] and try and get something out of the game.
"I think they'd take a draw now. I was a little bit worried about them defensively but you have to say, the attacking quality they're showing at the minute, they look like they're going to score goals against anybody.
"I hope they don't [win the league]!"
