Former Villarreal manager condone Debjit Majumder of blame for second goal acknowledge.
In the first match Atletico de Kolkata were held to a 2-2 draw against Chennaiyin FC at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium, on Sunday.
Coach Jose Molina was delighted with the parade of his side, and added that it was his team who should have picked all the full points from that match.
“Yes, I’m very happy. We played a good match. When we scored the first goal we calmed down a little bit but we conceded an unlucky goal. But we did a great job and we drew. We deserved to win but to win we need to score more than the rival, and that we did not,” said Molina.
The 46 year old Spanish man now focusing to get there all the three points from their next fixture against Kerala Blasters, he also thinks that Atletico de Kolkata needs to be perfect in their every section.
“I am absolutely happy with the performance of the team. Only 15 days training together and with some players it was only 10. What I want is perfection. My team needs to be perfect”.
“We can improve in everything. We will keep working and soon we will be a better team in the next few weeks. But now we need to compete. Next Wednesday, we have another match. We will try to compete and we will try to win,” he stated.
The former Villarreal coach thinks that they dropped two points in their first match but hailed the fighting qualities shown by his team.
“We had control of the match. We had chances to score but we did not achieve it. I think when they scored the first goal; it was like a shock for us. The players thought maybe it was unlucky. Then they scored and then we woke up again thinking how we can lose the match.
“We have to continue fighting till the end and again the team played well and scored one goal. Finally it’s a draw and maybe it’s not the result that we wanted but we got a point,” he mentioned.
“I think our defense did a great job. When we played against great strikers like Davide Succi and Jeje, it happens. I am really happy with the full defense,” he added.
“I think it’s not too much. We need to see tomorrow. I don’t know (about Oftentse Nato travelling). We have to look at it tomorrow,” he said.
