It would be crazy to sack Lopetegui: Ramos

Football News: The New Madrid manager is under pressure after losing his third match for Madrid, but the skipper has his back.

Ramos defends the new Madrid manager.

The Spanish captain Sergio Ramos believes it would be crazy to sack Julen Lopetegui despite their four games winless run under his wing, and in recent, they have lost the match against Deportivo Alves by 1-0 goals.

From September 26 Madrid enduring a dismal run, on this particular day they faced a mammoth defeat against Sevilla by 3-0 goals, and that followed up with their city rivals Atletico Madrid where the match ended 0-0, and then after they have lost two games in a row, in Champions League they have lost it against Moscow by 1-0 goals, and last night in La Liga against Alves.

In July Lopetegui has taken the helm of Madrid from Zidane and since from that, he has really hit work cut out.

At this stage, Madrid is in the top spot of La Liga table in a joint scenario, but three teams could go past them on this Sunday, and the Spanish captain thinks it would be perplexing to think about sacking Lopetegi at this stage.

He added: "Other people take decisions like that, but it's never good when there is a change in coach. It would be crazy,"

"We have to move on because the season is very long and there's a very long way to go. Whoever says Real Madrid are dead is always proved wrong in the long term.

"We [the players] are the first people that need to do more to improve and we're trying to do that. It's not fair to point the blame at anyone, we're all conscious of the reality.

"Results are what people talk about and especially when you lose, but we are still committed, we are still ambitious and we still want to win, it's in our DNA. We're on the right path despite the bad results."
