As on Wednesday, the Spanish giant Real Madrid traveled to Valencia for a La Liga showdown that was rescheduled from December when Real was playing at the Club World Cup.
Before the Wednesday’s La liga clash against Valencia, the Spanish giants were one-point lead over Barcelona at the top of the table and with two less matches played, this was one of the two upcoming chances Real Madrid had to separate themselves from the Spanish champions and really cement themselves as favorites to win the league.
But, Real Madrid couldn’t get it done; they missed their first chance to separate themselves from Barcelona as early two goals from Valencia cost them an away defeat.
As the early goals from Simone Zaza and Fabian Orellana carried Valencia to a 2-1 win, with the star forward Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the sole Real Madrid goal.
Real Madrid are currently standing at the top of La liga table with 52 points with one match less played then the defending champions FC Barcelona, who are currently standing at 2nd at the table with 51 points.
So we can say that, Zinedine Zidane’s side Real Madrid still has a chance to make up their mistakes and go four points clear to the top of La Liga.
