The northeast based ISL club Northeast United F.C has announced their marquee signing of the former Tottenham Hotspur and FC Pune City midfielder Didier Zokora for the upcoming season of Indian Super League.
The 35-years-old Ivorian has already played the second season of the ISL with the Hritik Roshan franchise FC Pune city and captained the team which finished in the 7th position at the end of the season.
Didier Zokora played 13 matches for the Pune City last season, now heading towards the northeast side of India to lead the Northeast United F.C. as their marquee alongside his former national and ex-Sevilla team mate Koffi Christian N'dri simply known as Romaric, both of them will be controlling the midfield area of Northeast United.
And the club believes that adding Didier Zokora to the Highlanders squad is a big boost for the club as Zokora knows the league very well.
The club announced their signing in the Facebook stating that,
“He (Zokora) knows the @IndSuperLeague. He (Zokora) is known to us all. Time to reveal the #NEUFC #Marquee!#HeroISL #8States1United”
The John Abraham franchise Northeast United will be hosting the opening ceremony of the Indian super League season 3 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati and the club will kick start their season in the very first match of the league against the yellow boys Kerala Blasters F.C. on 1st Oct 2016.
