The former Chilean international says that the Argentina’s Captain Lionel Messi must be appreciated on the International stage.
According to Ivan Zamorano if Messi were a Chilean player he would have monuments all over the Country,
He thinks that the Argentine superstar is undervalued in Argentina.
Though he is one of the best players in the world right now but still he faces some criticisms when he plays for his National team as he does not manage to achieve any international trophy for his country.
The Argentine star has won titles with the Catalan side but and the Five-time Ballon d'Or winner unable to win any silverware with his country even after they reached two consecutive times in the Copa America Finals and also in the World cup finals.
And in this Friday the Argentine will take down Chile in the World cup qualifiers and before this match the Former Real Madrid striker believes that Messi should get respect on International stage.
Zamorano said: "If Messi were Chilean, he would have monuments all over the country and he would be tired of getting tributes. In Chile he is valued,"
"Argentinians take into account the differences between Barcelona's Messi and the national team's Messi. In Spain he looks to one side and he has Neymar, looks to the other and he has [Luis] Suarez, looks back and has [Andres] Iniesta and [Sergio] Busquets.
"That's why, you must look the whole picture. I think the best in the world is valued. We must value the effort Messi makes, because he plays between 70 and 80 games per year and, despite that, he comes to play for the national team."
After twelve games the Argentina side is sitting in the fifth on the Qualifying table a point aback than Chile.
