The France international Paul Pogba, who is currently playing for the Premier League giant Manchester United has recently admitted that he could've joined Real Madrid or Barcelona over the summer.

On 3 July 2012, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson confirmed that the France international Pogba had left the club to join Italian giant Juventus, where he played more than 120 games with scoring more than 30 goals in his four years with Juventus.

And then in 2016, Pogba returned to former club, Manchester United, on a five-year contract for an all-time record for highest football transfer fee at €105 million (£89.3 million) plus bonuses of €5 million, surpassing the former record holder Gareth Bale.

But, according to the 23-years-old playmaker, he could've joined the Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona over the summer before moving to the Premier League giant Manchester United, as the Spanish sides were highly interested to sign the France man, but the "challenge" to help United return to the top was what swayed his decision when leaving Juventus.

As in an interview with SFR Sport, Pogba said, "Here, I have goals. It's a challenge, a big challenge for me.”

"I could also go to Real Madrid or Barcelona, who were interested. I chose to come back here, because I had it in my heart. I want to win with Manchester United, I never did.”

"The last five years were a bit difficult. I want Manchester to become the great Manchester again."
