The former Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has 116 appearances with 62 goals for his nation Sweden is always considered as one of the best footballers ever in the football history and the Swedish FA revealed that they are planning to build a monument of the former Sweden forward outside the Friends Arena in Stockholm, after he had collected the country’s Golden Ball award for the 11th time, on Monday.
It will be a tribute to the 35-year-old widely-travelled star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has a record of winning league titles in France, Italy, Spain and Netherlands.
And speaking to the Manchester United’s official website the 35-year-old said he is super happy. He is honoured. Sweden is his country and whatever he do, represent Sweden and also revealed that he always had faith in his ability,
As Zlatan said,
"I come from a small area in Malmo – the ghetto, they call it – and I get a statue in the capital city of Sweden,"
"I would not have believed it because I felt different. I did not feel like the other ones, where I came from, because of my background. But I believed that I would take over the world that is for sure.”
Normally you get a statue when you pass away, but I am alive. It is incredible. I am super happy. I am honoured. Sweden is my country and whatever I do, I represent Sweden. I will always go back there.
"I cannot describe the words; the whole career I went through, it has been a big adventure with many things happening and this is the outcome. I get a statue. I cannot ask for more."
